Gerindra Prepares Ahmad Dhani To Advance Piwalkot Surabaya 2024

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party has prepared the name of a musician who is also a cadre of his party, Ahmad Dhani to run in the 2024 Surabaya mayor election (Pilwakot). The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP stated that currently a recommendation letter for Ahmad Dhani as a candidate for mayor of Surabaya is being prepared. "For the Surabaya election, the Gerindra party is preparing Ahmad Dhani to run as mayor," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, May 20. Even so, Dasco has not officially declared when Gerindra declared Ahmad Dhani to run in the 2024 Pilkada. Dasco only stated that in the near future his party will issue a decree (SK) to support Khofifah-Emil to run again in the East Java gubernatorial election. "At this time, the Gerindra Party DPP is preparing a letter of recommendation to Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil Dardak, which in due time we will submit it," said Dasco. It is known that Ahmad Dhani was elected as a member of the 2024-2029 DPR for the period of East Java I electoral districts (dapil) which includes the cities of Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The latest KPU rules require that legislegs who qualify for Senayan must be willing to resign if they progress in the 2024 Pilkada.
