Regarding Relations With Megawati, Jokowi Is Considered To Have The Same Fate As SBY

JAKARTA The PDI-P did not invite President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the National Working Meeting (Rakernas). This is considered to make Jokowi suffer the same fate as Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) regarding his relationship with Megawati Soekarnoputri.

According to the Executive Director of Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO), Dedi Kurnia Syah, Jokowi was not invited to the PDIP National Working Meeting because of deep injuries, especially Megawati. Therefore, he believes that Jokowi will have the same fate as SBY regarding his relationship with Megawati.

"That's why PDIP didn't invite Jokowi. Jokowi will have the same fate as SBY in Megawati and PDIP's eyes," he said, Sunday, May 19, 2024.

He revealed that the relationship between Jokowi and Megawati has been difficult to improve since Jokowi contradicted PDIP in the 2024 presidential election. In fact, the relationship between the two figures is suspected to not improve until Jokowi's term as president ends.

"Reading Megawati's attitude so far, I don't feel like it. We can see that all of Jokowi's family affiliates in 2024, may not be carried by PDIP," said Dedi.

A similar statement was made by the Executive Director of the National Political Studies (KPN) Adib Miftahul, who stated that Jokowi's relationship with Megawati and PDIP had ended. "If I look at the relationship between Jokowi and PDIP, especially the relationship with Megawati is over," he added.

He emphasized that the peak of the feud occurred when Gibran Rakabuming Raka ran as a vice presidential candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election. Therefore, he suspects that Prabowo's initiative to form a presidential club is an effort to bring together Jokowi and Megawati so that political stability in his government is not disturbed by this feud.

"But if Prabowo wants calm political stability, he tries to bridge it. The problem is, PDIP's position is that the relationship with Prabowo and Gerindra is not a problem, their problem is with Jokowi. It's clear, it's been clear," said Adib.
