Discourse Adds Ministry To 40, Yusril Ihza Mahendra: Haven't Heard Official From Prabowo

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB), Yusril Ihza Mahendra admitted that he had not heard directly from the elected President for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto, who wanted to add ministries from 34 to 40 posts in his government. According to Yusril, the addition of the ministerial nomenclature is entirely the prerogative of Prabowo as President-elect.

"I have not heard officially from him (Prabowo). The discourse has developed around 40. So yes, it has increased by about 6 more ministries from today," said Yusril at the UN DPP office, South Jakarta, Saturday, May 18.

Yusril assessed that the potential for additional ministries in the next government could happen. Because he said, many programs were planned by Prabowo-Gibran, so adjustments were needed in his cabinet.

"For example, what is Pak Prabowo thinking now? Giving free meals to school children, giving free milk and others. Later who will be handled? Is it enough for the existing Ministry of Agriculture? Or for example, Pak Prabowo feels the need for a special Ministry to handle the problem," explained Yusril.

Therefore, this constitutional law expert assesses that there needs to be an adjustment of the ministry to accelerate development through government programs. One of them is the ministry that specializes in managing the program.

"There was no previous program, that's why Pak Prabowo was determined to accelerate our economic development, so that 2045 became a gold Indonesia," he concluded.
