PPP Denies Khofifah's Claim About Receiving Support From The East Java Gubernatorial Election Today

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PPP DPP Achmad Baidowi or Awiek denied that there was an agenda for submitting a letter of support from the East Java PPP DPW to Khofifah Indar Parawansa as a candidate for governor in the 2024 East Java gubernatorial election. According to Awiek, until now PPP has not discussed the 2024 Pilkada, both in East Java and other regions. "Until now there has been no election desk meeting regarding the regional elections, not only East Java, all of which haven't," Awiek told reporters, Saturday, May 18.

However, continued Awiek, PPP opens opportunities for support to all figures who want to advance in the East Java Pilkada. Including, Khofifah, who has stated that she will run again with Emil Dardak. "Of course we will explore all figures, all figures who will advance in the Pilkada, including Mrs. Khofifah, we will also continue to listen to the aspirations of friends in East Java," said the East Java legislator. So far, Khofifah has been supported by four parties, namely Golkar, Democrats, Gerindra and PAN. Meanwhile, PPP, said Awiek, will only discuss the Pilkada issue, especially East Java in the near future.

"In the near future, we will discuss East Java," he concluded.

Previously, the United Development Party (PPP) was said to be handing over a letter of support to the prospective Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa today. This was conveyed by Khofifah after receiving official support from the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto in South Jakarta, Friday, May 17, evening. According to Khofifah, the submission of PPP support will be carried out in East Java on Saturday, May 18, today. It is known that PPP also supports the Khofifah-Emil Dardak pair in the previous East Java Pilkada. "PPP God willing tomorrow (Saturday, red), the submission will be tomorrow, God willing, in East Java," said Khofifah after receiving a letter of support from Golkar, Friday, May 17, evening.
