Defense Minister Prabowo And Australian Governor General Discuss The Benefits Of Cadest Exchange

Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Australian Governor-General Davidegory exchanged souvenirs when the two met/ANTARA/HO-Biro Public Relations of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense Secretariat General.

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto in his meeting with Australian Governor-General David plan to discuss a number of cooperation programs between the two countries, including the benefits received by RI-Australia in the cadet exchange program.

In the span of half a century or 50 years, the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java and the Australian Royal Military College (RMC) exchanged cadets/tarauna to be able to produce a generation of military leaders who understand the closeness of the two countries as well as the strategic environment of each country.

"This cadet exchange program has resulted in a generation of military leaders who not only have high professional skills, but also an in-depth understanding of the culture and strategic environment of each country," Prabowo said when meetingius at the official residence of the Australian Ambassador to Indonesia in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 17.

During the meeting, Prabowo revealed that he andIManya were also alumni of the exchange program. The two of them took part in the exchange program in 1974.

"The Governor and I, the Governor-General, both feel the great benefits of this program," said the Minister of Defense.

Prabowo and Korya also acknowledged that the program was effective in maintaining strong military cooperation between Indonesia and Australia.

Prabowo, at the meeting, also mentioned the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia in 2024. He said the 75-year span was a milestone that reflected the closeness and close cooperation of the two countries.
