JAKARTA - The East Nusa Tenggara High Court (Kejati NTT) has detained former West Manggarai Regent Agustinus Ch Dulla. He became a suspect in the case of transferring assets of a 30 hectare land belonging to the West Manggarai government in Labuan Bajo.

Head of the NTT Attorney General, Abdul Hakim, said that the detention of Agustinus Ch Dulla was carried out after the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Labuan Bajo District Attorney stated that the suspect's file was declared complete.

"The NTT Attorney General's Office investigators have officially detained the suspect during the second stage submission of the files and the suspect from the investigator to the prosecutor. The detention was carried out after the prosecutor at the Labuan Bajo District Prosecutor's Office examined and declared that the suspect's file was declared complete," said Abdul Hakim in Kupang as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 10. .

The former Regent of West Manggarai for two periods was detained by the Prosecutor of the Labuan Bajo District Prosecutor at Detention Center II B Kupang for 20 days until the trial process at the Corruption Crime Court took place.

Abdul Hakim said the prosecutor was confirmed to immediately hand over the suspect, files and evidence to the Kupang Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor) to undergo a trial process in connection with the case of transferring West Manggarai government land assets which cost the state Rp1.3 trillion.

Meanwhile, the lawyer for the suspect Agustinus Ch Dulla, Frans Tulung, said that his party was trying to submit a request for a suspension of detention to investigators.

"We just follow the process that has been carried out. We will just follow him. We will immediately apply for a suspension of detention because he is still recovering from his health after recovering from exposure to COVID-19," he said.

He hopes that the legal process against the former West Manggarai regent will be carried out quickly so that there is legal certainty.
