Minister Of Health And Minister Of Finance Review New Contribution Tariffs KRIS BPJS Health, Juli Decision

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) admits that it is currently evaluating the standard inpatient class (KRIS) tariff for BPJS Kesehatan together with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu). The evaluation results are set no later than July 1, 2025.

Head of the Ministry of Health's Center for Financing and Decentralization Policy, Ahmad Irsan Moeis, said that his party together with the Ministry of Finance were still evaluating the tariff determination, benefits and contributions of the new KRIS system during the transition period until June 30, 2025.

"So whether new contributions are needed, it is being evaluated. So indeed the discussion is always carried out. Only later will the results of the evaluation be determined, the new determination will be no later than July 1, 2025. Maybe be more patient," said Irsan, Thursday, May 16.

Meanwhile, said Irsan, BPJS Kesehatan contributions remain the same, even though the class 1, 2 and 3 systems have been simplified to KRIS. He said, there are no rules that have set changes or adjusted BPJS Kesehatan rates.

"At Presidential Decree 59/2024, there is no mandate for tariff adjustments. What is there, the mandate is that the transition period is enforced until June 30, 2025. It is also not urgent, previously there was piloting-piloting," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of BPJS Kesehatan, Rizzky Anugrah, added that so far BPJS Kesehatan contributions remain the same, referring to Presidential Decree 64 of 2020 concerning the Second Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance.

"Of course the Contribution is still fixed, because there is no class eraser. It still refers to the Presidential Decree which is still valid, namely Presidential Decree 64/2020," said Rizzky.

"How in the future this will be discussed further because in Presidential Decree 59 it is stated that the results of the evaluation will certainly be based on determining in terms of benefits, tariffs and fees," he concluded.
