Alert, Jakarta And West Java Potential Thunderstorms Thursday Afternoon

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that as many as nineteen (19) provinces in Indonesia will receive heavy rain on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Jakarta and West Java will experience thunderstorms. The following are the Provinces of North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua. In addition to heavy rains, BMKG also reminded the public to be aware of the rain accompanied by lightning or lightning in the areas of South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, and South Kalimantan.

Furthermore, strong winds are also predicted to appear in some areas, namely South Sumatra, West Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Sulawesi. Then, BMKG also reminded the public to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by impacts such as floods in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua.
