DKI Transportation Agency Will Access CCTV Parking Areas At Minimarkets To Eradicate Illegal Jukir

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, admitted that his party would ask for access to monitoring on CCTV cameras that highlight the parking area to minimarket managers.

This is intended so that the Transportation Agency can directly monitor the actions of illegal parking attendants (jukir) who are still collecting parking rates from buyers at minimarkets.

"We will not ask for all access, because of course they have privacy related to the camera. But what we hope can be given access to the camera at the parking location alone," Syafrin told reporters, Monday, May 13.

If permitted, Syafrin said that the CCTV access to the minimarket parking area would be connected to the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency's data and information center.

"So that the Transportation Agency can carry out monitoring. Once there is a illegal parking attendant, we can deploy a team to carry out control," he said.

In the near future, a joint team to curb the illegal minimarket jukir will be formed. This team consists of the Lintas Jaya Team such as the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, plus Satpol PP, court elements, and the prosecutor's office.

This team will work based on supervision in the field and follow up on public reports.

The public, continued Syafrin, could complain about the existence of illegal minimarket jukir through the JAKI channel (Jakarta Kini) and the Public Response Fast (CRM).

"We hope that this can have a deterrent effect. So, the guidance that has been carried out persuasively can be followed up by imposing sanctions because it is part of a minor crime. That is what we will carry out," said Syafrin.

Syafrin underlined that the action against illegal jukir was not carried out in minimarkets in one commercial area parking management.

"What we will take action on is the locations of minimarkets that stand independently, themselves, then there are illegal parking attendants who collect parking, and this is precisely what causes unrest," he said.
