DKI KPU Verifies Support Documents Will Cagub Independent Dharma Pongrekun

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta KPU has verified the support documents for the prospective Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta from an independent or individual route, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, as a condition for participating in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub).

The inspection is targeted to be completed in a day.

"Our target is ideally one day, we have invited friends from the Regency/City KPU, hopefully it can be done soon," said Head of the Technical Division for the Implementation of the DKI KPU Election, Dody Wijaya, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 13.

Dody said that the inspection of supporting documents as a minimum requirement is available digitally (soft files) and physically as many as 29 containers of trucks are being calculated.

He stated that he prioritized documents in digital form to be faster in calculating. "We prioritized those in the form of 'files', together with Bawaslu calculating the minimum amount of support," he said.

The examination of this file includes whether or not there are documents, complete or incomplete, whose truth will be verified later. "We are still limited to calculating the number of eligible or not, if we fulfill it we accept it," he said.

The DKI KPU accepts the candidate for Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta from the independent or individual path of Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana, to deliver support requirements to the DKI Jakarta KPU on Sunday (12/5) night at 23.12 WIB.

The Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana pair stated that the support requirements uploaded through the Silon application were around 160 thousand and the conditions for physical support were around 690 thousand.

In accordance with the Decree of the DKI Jakarta KPU Number 47 2024, prospective independent candidates must have public support of 7.5 percent of the total DKI Jakarta Permanent Voter List (DPT) in the previous election, which is around 618,968 supports that must be owned in the form of a statement of support accompanied by an ID card.
