13 Died Due To Cold Lava Flood In West Sumatra, 4 Still Missing

SUMBAR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that 13 residents in Tanah Datar Regency and Agam Regency died due to cold lava floods in the two areas.

"Currently, 13 people have died and 10 people are being treated," said Head of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Division of the West Sumatra Province BPBD (West Sumatra), Ilham Wahab in Padang, Sunday, May 12, as reported by Antara.

Currently, the West Sumatra BPBD together with related agencies are still intensifying the search for other victims who have not been found. As a result of this incident, BPBD reported that a number of national roads to Agam Regency and Tanah Datar could not be passed.

In addition to casualties, the West Sumatra Provincial BPBD is also still recording the houses of residents affected by cold lava floods in both Agam and Tanah Datar Regencies.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Padang City Basarnas, Abdul Malik, said that dozens of fatalities due to the cold lava flood are currently at the nearest hospital.

"The data we received from nine victims have been identified," said Abdul.

In addition, Basarnas together with other agencies are still looking for four residents in Agam Regency who have yet to be found. Basarnas ensures that it will continue to update data and the development of cold lava floods.
