Police Arrest Content Of Short Film Creators 'Task Teachers' Allegedly SARA

The East Java Regional Police arrested three content creators with the initials S, Y and A who produced a short film entitled "Teacher of Tasks" which allegedly contained elements of SARA and pornography.

The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Dirmanto in Surabaya, Wednesday explained that the film Guru Tugas tells of an assignment teacher from Jember Regency who sexually abuses students while on duty in Islamic boarding schools.

"When carrying out the task, the person concerned sexually assaulted or raped his students. This is a scene in the video of the Teacher of Duties 1 and Teacher of Duties 2," said Dirmanto as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 8.

After airing on Akeloy's YouTube account, the video of the short film was immediately invaded by thousands of viewers and sparked pros and cons in the midst of society, especially pesantren circles.

"Getting criticism from various community leaders in the Madura region, be it from NU Madura Raya, Then from dai Madura, then from kiai and ulama Madura who are members of Auma," said Dirmanto.

Responding to this concern, Sub-Directorate V Cyber Ditreskrimsus of the East Java Police then conducted an investigation by issuing Police Report Model B, Number 236/2024 SPKT Polda East Java. The three content creators who made and circulated the short film were finally secured.

Dirmanto said the three content creators are now undergoing examination at the Ditreskrimsus Polda East Java.

"The three people suspected of being the owner of the (YouTube) account and the perpetrator in the video (checked)," he said.

Previously, the Head of Rabitah Ma'ahid Islamiyah Nahdlatul Ulama (RMINU) Pamekasan, KH. Taufiqurrarman Khozin, criticized the short video. According to him, the video is very inappropriate to show.

Because, he continued, as is the tradition in Islamic boarding schools, the task teacher actually brings the sacred task of pesantren to help educational institutions and pesantren in transmitting religious knowledge that has been obtained while studying at Islamic boarding schools.

"We all know that those who dispatch these task teachers are usually large Islamic boarding schools," said Kiai Taufiqurrarahman, Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, he said, in the video, the task teacher is shown negatively.

"Almost not showing the positive side at all. If there is behavior of one or two task teachers who are not good in the community, don't ignore the kindness of the task teacher, so they are beaten evenly. That's just an individual," he said.
