The DKI Provincial Government Has Expressed The Reason 292 Companies In Jakarta Have Not Paid Off This Year's Employee THR

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) Hari Nugroho revealed the reason the company in Jakarta has not paid the holiday allowance (THR) payment to its employees.

Based on the results of mediation between workers and companies, Hari said that one of the reasons for not paying off the THR distribution was that the company experienced financial problems in the company.

"It can be seen from several complaints where the reporter who has not received the THR received a notification that the company's condition is not good," said Hari in his statement, Wednesday, May 8.

Another reason is that there are several workers whose work relationships are not yet clear, so they are not entitled to receive THR. Then, there are also workers whose contracts have expired, and have even been laid off.

Then, there are obstacles in handling complaints about religious THR problems by the DKI Provincial Government, namely there is a virtual office company where the company's management is outside DKI Jakarta.

"The address of the company provided by the reporter has not been found or has moved, making it difficult for officers," said Hari.

As of Tuesday, May 7, 2024, it was reported that 292 companies had not paid THR to all or some of their employees.

The most reported addresses are in the South Jakarta area, with 98 companies.

Furthermore, Hari revealed that the number of reports of late THR complaints received this year was not more than the problem of last year's THR arrears. In 2023, the DKI Provincial Government received 774 complaints.

Hari assessed that the decrease in the number of complaints of late THR payments was influenced by conditions for economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the company is also increasingly aware of the obligation to pay employee rights.

"Also because of our routine supervision to the field, monitoring to the field, then checking that it is our target. So, the company means a bit scary, if you don't pay," he added.
