Corruption In TKA's Retribution, Former Head Of Central Bengkulu Manpower Office Sued 8 Years In Prison

BENGKULU - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the District Attorney (Kejari) has demanded the former Head of the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of Central Bengkulu Regency, Elpi Eriantoni, for eight years in prison related to corruption cases.

The defendant Elpi was sentenced to eight years in prison because he was found guilty of corruption in foreign labor retribution funds (TKA) in Central Bengkulu Regency from 2018 to 2019.

"The defendant on behalf of Elpi was sentenced to 8 years in prison," said Bengkulu Public Prosecutor Harys Ganda Tiar Sitorus when reading the demands in front of the Chief Justice of the Bengkulu District Court Agus Hamzah, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 7.

Karena itu, dalam tuntutannya, terdakwa diduga menerima pembayaran retribusi untuk perpanjangan masa kerja TKA dari salah satu perusahaan di Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah dan kemudian uang tersebut dikirim ke rekening resmi Dinas Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah yang terdakwa kelola sendiri dan langsung diliran di bank.

The defendant was also charged a fine of Rp. 500 million, a subsidiary of six months and replacement money of Rp. 1.6 billion and if the defendant did not pay, the defendant's property would be confiscated or replaced with a prison sentence of four years in prison.

In this case, the aggravating things are that the defendant is a recidivist related to the corruption case of the placement and empowerment of labor programs at the Manpower and Transmigration Office of Central Bengkulu Regency for the 2018 to 2019 budget year with a total budget of IDR 1 billion.

In this case, there are two types of jobs, namely a labor-intensive infrastructure program divided into four villages.

Then, on February 17, 2022, the defendant was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to one month and to pay state losses of Rp. 416 million.

"The aggravating thing is that the defendant is a recidivist, then until now there has been no return on state losses," explained Harys.
