KPU Calls 13 District Election Committees In Central Papua Not Over Recapitulation Fired, What Causes It?

Commissionar KPU RI Idham Holik said as many as 13 district election committees (PPD) in Puncak Regency, Central Papua, were dismissed due to poor performance. At first, Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih asked about 13 ppd in Puncak Regency which had not yet completed the results of the vote recapitulation as stated in the petitioner's argument, namely the National Mandate Party (PAN). Idham explained that his party had asked the Central Papua KPU why the recapitulation of votes in Puncak Regency was slow. The answer he received from the Central Papua KPU is that there are 13 districts that seem to hold the recapitulation process. Therefore, PPD was given a warning and the KPU carried out supervision.

"Until finally, according to the KPU there, their performance was very severe, so they were taken by the KPU and they were dismissed," said Idham in a panel session of three PHPU cases for the 2024 Legislative Election which was held at the Constitutional Court Building (MK), Jakarta, Tuesday, May 7, which was confiscated by Antara. "The results of the recapitulation who completed it? " asked Enny. "The one who completed it was the KPU of Puncak Regency," replied Idham.

Then, Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman again asked about the reasons for his dismissal. Idham emphasized that the dismissal was due to bad performance reasons. "Your Majesty, the reason is because they did not work well and there was no even good intention to resolve the recapitulation. The information we got was like that," said Idham.. "There was no riot like the others yesterday? " asked Anwar. "If the problem of the riots, if it really works well, it will definitely be continued," said Idham asserted.

The clarification is based on the PAN application with Case Number 82-01-12-36/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024. In one of its arguments, it was stated that the PAN vote acquisition figures in several districts were actually read out by the Puncak Regency KPU because all PPS members had been dismissed by the Puncak Regency KPU..
