The Volcano Observation Post (PGA) hopes that residents will stay away from a radius of five kilometers from the crater of Mount Ruang, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi.

"People around Mount Ruang and visitors or tourists should remain vigilant and not enter a radius of five kilometers from the center of the active crater," wrote the Head of the PGA Ruang Post as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

Another recommendation is that people living in the Tagulandang Island area which is within a five-kilometer radius should be immediately evacuated to a safe place outside the radius.

The public is also advised to always use masks to avoid exposure to volcanic ash that can disrupt the respiratory system.

Next, the people around Mount Ruang are expected to be calm, active as usual, not provoked by issues about the eruption of G. Space and continue to follow the development of mountain activity on the Island of Ruang through the MAGMA Indonesia application.

In the report, it was stated that visually the mountain was clearly visible, the crater smoke was observed to be white with a thick intensity and a height of 100-200 meters above the crater peak.

Two avalanches with an amplitude of 5-6 millimeters for 36-37 seconds were recorded, one shallow volcanic earthquake with an amplitude of 4 millimeters with a duration of 10 seconds.

It was also recorded that one volcanic earthquake with an amplitude of 8 millimeters, S-P: 1.1 seconds with a duration of 11 seconds, and a continuous tremor (microtremor) was recorded with an amplitude of 1-3 millimeters (2 millimeters dominant).
