TIMIKA - Damai Cartenz 2024 Task Force (Satgas) said the Free Papua Organization (OPM) was acting again in the Borne District of the Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua Mountains, by seizing electronic goods belonging to the people who were carrying out worship on Sunday 5 May.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force 2024 AKBP Bayu Suseno said the action was carried out on Sunday 5 May 2024, at 11.00 WIT.

"When the congregation was worshiping on Sunday, four OPMs came carrying a firearm and threatening and seizing electronic goods," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 6.

According to Bayu, the item seized by the OPM is a mobile phone owned by the congregation on behalf of David Korwa who serves as a health worker at the Borme Health Center.

"Also the OPM took away Ferdian Rumansara's cell phone, a health worker on duty at the Borme Health Center," he said.

He explained that not only there, the OPM who acted this also confiscated a laptop belonging to the Head of the Borme Health Center on behalf of Andi Wisal.

"After seizing the electronic goods of the congregation who was worshiping, OPM headed to the school complex which scared teachers and fled to the forest to hide," he said.

Until now, his party has not received any information on developments related to the casualties of the OPM in Borme District, Bintang Mountains Regency.

"Currently, health workers in the Borme District who are victims of the confiscation of electronic goods by the OPM are securing themselves at the house of the Head of the Borme Health Center," he said.
