JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has changed the scheme for sending a ticket confirmation letter for ETLE which previously used the post to go through the WhatsApp short message application. The reason is because of budget constraints.

"There is a lack of budget for conformation through this (post)," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Monday, May 6.

In fact, Latif said that more than one million violators were caught on the ETLE camera within a month. So, if the ticket confirmation letter is sent by post, it will cost a lot of money.

"Meanwhile, in just one month, we can capture up to 1 million violations. Funds for confirmation are very limited," he said.

By using a letter delivery scheme via Whatsapp, it is considered to minimize the use of funds. Moreover, many violators did not confirm.

"Well, those who are not covered by funds from DIPA (budget implementation list) use this application. So it's not in vain to capture this," said Latif.

Regarding how to get the offender's phone number, Latif said it came from the registration process. Where, the public is required to include a telepom number.

"Yes, they registered the vehicle using that number, they got it. There must be, it's obligatory to include it," said Latif.

The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya has changed the scheme for sending a ticket confirmation letter which is now via the WhatsApp (WA) short message application. There are at least five phone numbers used.

The ticket confirmation letter was previously sent to violators through the post in the form of physical copies.

The five phone numbers include 082333343250; 085258869001; 085258868990; 082333343249; and 0878174000.

The use of the phone number is to anticipate fraudulent acts that send ticket confirmation letters in the form of Android Package Kit (APK) format.
