Gazalba Saleh Didakwa Receives Money Of Tens Of Billions Conditioning Cases In The Supreme Court

JAKARTA - The inactive Supreme Court Justice (MA) Gazalba Saleh is said to have not only received hundreds of millions of money related to the case at the Supreme Court (MA). However, the money he received reached tens of billions during the 2020 to 2022 period.

In the second indictment file, Gazalba is said to have received a reward for highlighting the review (PK) with the convict Jaffar Abdul Gaffar.

Jaffar could connect with Gazalba because his lawyer, Neshawaty Arsjad, has a family relationship with the Supreme Court Justice.

In a trial held on April 15, 2020, Gazalba granted a review (PK) proposed by Jaffar.

"On the investigation of the case, the defendant and Neshawaty Arsjad received a total of Rp37 billion," said the prosecutor during a trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday, May 6.

Then, Gazalba also received a number of gratuities during the period 2020 to 2022. The first was around 18 thousand Singapore Dollars or Rp. 200 million.

The money is a reward for freeing the defendant Jawahirul Fuad at the cassation level.

Jawahirul Fuad is the owner of the UD Logam Jaya business. He experienced legal problems related to the management of B3 waste without a permit and was found guilty with a sentence of 1 year in prison.

Gazalba received 1,128,000 Singapore Dollars, 181,100 United States or US Examination Dollars, and Rp9,429,600,000

If converted, 1,128,000 Singapore Dollars as well as Rp13,370,071,200. Meanwhile, 181,100 United States or US Examination Dollars are equivalent to Rp2,901,140,505

"The defendant as Supreme Court Justice of the Republic of Indonesia, from 2020 to 2022, has received gratuities," said the prosecutor.

In this case, Gazalba is suspected of violating Article 12 B in conjunction with Article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
