Capital 14 Million Votes In The Regions, PPP Starts Opening Registration For The 2024 Pilkada

JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) has begun to open registration for regional head candidates for simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada) in 2024, although they are still struggling to qualify for parliament.

"For the 2024 simultaneous regional elections, PPP has opened registration starting last April 22," said PPP Spokesperson, Imam Priyono, Sunday, May 5, 2024.

He explained that PPP has a capital of around six million votes or around 80 seats for the provincial-level DPRD, and eight million votes or about 800 seats in the district/city level DPRD throughout Indonesia.

"Therefore, we invite and widen the opportunity to develop regions with PPP," he added.

Imam revealed, according to the direction of the Acting Chairperson of PPP, Muhammad Mardiono, in June there will be a coordination meeting related to simultaneous regional elections.

In this activity, the party will submit a letter of assignment to a number of regional head candidates, both from cadres and non-cadres of PPP.

He also stated that PPP and PKB had agreed to cooperate in the simultaneous regional elections in a meeting at the PKB DPP some time ago.

The two political parties agreed to synergize in the regional elections for areas that have the potential to support and support each other.

"Two parties agreed to work hand in hand, work together in order to maximize the role and benefits for the life of the nation and state, both in the legislature and executive. God willing, the process will be carried out soon," said Imam.
