Secretary General Of Gerindra Reveals Jokowi's Efforts To Meet Megawati And Prabowo

Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani revealed the role of President Jokowi in the discourse of meeting Prabowo Subianto and Megawati Soekarnoputri.

This statement at the same time dismissed President Jokowi's issue as a barrier to Megawati-Prabowo's meeting. "No, Mr. Jokowi actually encouraged and reminded," said Muzani in the Pademangan area, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 4.

He assessed that Megawati and Prabowo had their own way of communicating with each other, because the two figures were old friends.

In fact, he said Megawati and Prabowo did not have problems with each other. The discourse on meeting Megawati and Prabowo is in the process with a fairly good progress.

"Never mind Mrs. Mega, with all of them there is no problem. It can even work with any party so that the meeting is about the timing of the momentum and I think we are waiting because the two leaders understand when to meet," explained Muzani.

Previously, Monday (23/4), the meeting between PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and the presidential candidate who won the 2024 presidential election as well as Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto was waiting for the results of the PDI-P IV National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on May 24-26.

"If the meeting in question is politically formal state, then we will still wait for a national working meeting that earlier Mas Djarot (Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat) has informed the details of the date, namely 24, 25, 26 May which will come," said PDI-P DPP chairman Ahmad Basarah at the PDI-P DPP Office, Jakarta, Monday.

Basarah explained that Megawati and Prabowo's chances of meeting were still there. Moreover, both of them are said to have never had personal problems. Both are also known to have been in communication and good relations for a long time.

The Deputy Chairperson of the MPR explained that Megawati knew the right portion and momentum to hold the meeting. Thus, private meetings may also occur.
