Singaraja Buleleng Bali Immigration Office Requires Hotels To Report If Foreigners Stay

JAKARTA - The Singaraja Immigration Office in Buleleng Regency, Bali, requires every hotel and similar accommodation to report foreigners staying overnight to support immigration supervision.

"We hope that the public and related parties can collaborate to maintain security and order," said Singaraja Immigration Chief Hendra Setiawan in Denpasar, quoted from Antara, Saturday, May 54.

He asked the inn or hotel to report the foreigners who were staying at it regularly through the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA) or electronic mail (e-mail) of Singaraja Immigration via the kanim.singaraja address @kemenkumham.go.id, within 1x24 hours of the foreigner staying overnight.

Hendra reminded that if there is an element of intent that the hotel does not report the foreigner staying overnight, then there are sanctions that have the potential to be accepted.

In accordance with Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration has regulated the provisions related to reporting of foreigners in article 72 and article 117, the threat of imprisonment for three months or a maximum fine of Rp. 25 million.

The obligation to report foreigners to stay is also conveyed by Immigration officers when carrying out a foreign surveillance operation (Jagratara) aimed at preventing immigration violations and law enforcement for the stability of state security.

In carrying out the operation, officers followed a number of tourist attractions, hotels and companies in Jembrana and Pemuteran Regencies, Buleleng Regency.

"Supervision of the focus of regularity checks between several immigration documents owned by foreigners and activities carried out while in Indonesia," he added.

Although the officer did not find any immigration violations of foreign nationals during the operation, he invited the public to report any suspicious foreigners activities through the official WhatsApp number 0813-53909733.

The Singaraja Immigration Office has surveillance areas for foreigners in three districts, namely Buleleng, Karangasem and Jembrana.

Selama 2023, pihaknya sudah deportasi sebanyak 17 WNA karena beragam karena di antaranya penyalahkan izin tinggal hingga melampaui masa tinggal.
