20 Witnesses Examined By The Dompu Prosecutor's Office For Corruption Cases In The Irrigation Channel Project

JAKARTA - 20 witnesses were examined in the investigation of two cases of alleged corruption in the work of irrigation canal projects. Nine of them are related to the investigation of suspected corruption cases in the work of irrigation canal projects in the Sori Paranggi area.

"So far, 20 witnesses have been examined," said Head of the Dompu District Attorney's Office, West Nusa Tenggara, Latinambson Carel Williams, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, May 4.

"The remaining 11 witnesses were examined for the 2022 irrigation canal project in the Kwangko area," he continued.

Finally, the examination which took place on Friday, May 3, was carried out on project implementers.

"Yang di saluran irigasi Kwangko itu pelaksana proyeknya berinisial IF. Untuk di Sori Paranggi inisial AB," ucap dia.

Although it did not fully explain the role of the two last witnesses, Carel confirmed that the series of examinations of the two cases of alleged corruption in the irrigation canal were still ongoing.

In the investigation of these two cases, the prosecutor's office conducted searches at three government agency offices, namely the Dompu Regency BPKAD Office, the Dompu Regency PUPR Office, and the Dompu Regency LPSE Office.

The results of the search that took place on Monday, April 29 have been confiscated by a number of documents related to the implementation of the two projects.

Following up on the search, Carel confirmed that his party was still investigating the confiscated documents.

Regarding the state financial losses of these two cases, it is said that Carel is still in the audit process by the auditor agency.

"For PKKN (calculation of state financial losses) an audit is still being carried out. Who is the audit? What is certain is not the Dompu Inspectorate," he said.

Based on information compiled from the Dompu Regency Electronic Procurement Service (LPSE), these two projects were carried out through the Dompu Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (PUPR).

For irrigation channel projects in the Kwangko area with the name of the rehabilitation auction of the Irrigation Regional Irrigation Network (DI) Kwangko, it was recorded that it was carried out in the 2022 fiscal year with a budget ceiling of IDR 3.51 billion.

The winner of the auction for this project is CV Vantiyar, which is located in Dompu Regency. The private company emerged as the winner with an offering price of IDR 3.44 billion.

Then, for irrigation channel projects in the Sori Paranggi area with the name of the Irrigation Region Rehabilitation (DI) Sori Paranggi auction, it was recorded that it ran from the 2020 to 2022 fiscal year.

However, for the 2020 fiscal year which is the focus of investigating prosecutors, the local government is recorded to have prepared a budget ceiling of Rp. 2.3 billion. The winner of the auction from the project is CV Bangkit Bersama from Dompu Regency with an offering price of Rp. 2.07 billion.
