JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy has alerted seven warships (KRI) and two of their helicopters in Bali since 5 days before (D-5) the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) event was held on 18 25 May 2024.
Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) First Admiral TNI I Made Wira Hady Arsanta said the warships and other defense equipment from the Indonesian Navy would be on standby in Bali or on position since May 13, 2024.
He continued that the Indonesian Navy has alerted seven warships consisting of two frigates, one corvette, one hospital aid ship (BRS), and three fast patrol boats to participate in the success of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali.
The ships, all of which are based in the Fleet Command II (Koarmada) of the Indonesian Navy, include KRI Raden Eddy Martadinata-331, KRI Ahmad Yani-351, KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366, KRI Layang-635, KRI Tongkol-813, KRI Marlin-877, and KRI dr. Soeharso-990.
"Then there are also two helicopters, seariders, and LCVP (landing aircraft vehicle personnel/amphibious landing codes)," said Kadispenal.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Navy has also prepared a total of 1,060 soldiers to oversee the entire series of World Water Forum events in Bali.
Head of the TNI Information Center (Kapuspen) Maj. Gen. Nugraha Gumilar, separately, explained that there were more than 12,000 TNI soldiers from three dimensions who were prepared to assist not only security, but also escorting state guests, as well as anticipating various possible natural disasters during the event.
He explained that the soldiers were on standby in Bali at least a week before the event took place, there were even a number of soldiers who started leaving for Bali at the end of last month.
