Having A Golden Ticket, PKB Wants To Carry Its Own Cadres In The 2024 East Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - PKB stated that it wants to carry its own candidate in the 2024 East Java Governor Election (Pilgub Jatim). The reason is, PKB has more than 10 seats in the East Java DPRD.

"East Java is called a golden ticket," said Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid, Thursday, May 2.

However, Jazilul assessed, PKB needs a special strategy to be able to fight Khofifah Indar Parawansa who is said to be running again with Emil Dardak. He admitted that both have the potential to win again in the East Java gubernatorial election.

"Obviously they are competent, both have a great opportunity to win. That's why they have to have a strategy," he said.

Therefore, Jazilul said PKB opened the door to a coalition with other political parties, including PKS, PPP and even NasDem.

"It's just that the coalition is a candidate, who is the candidate for governor and deputy governor, it must be discussed together. After meeting the candidate is discussed again, who can win, has the potential to win or not. So there are stages, today is the screening stage," he said.

Jazilul also said that PKB invites any East Java or national figure who wants to run as a East Java cagub from PKB.

"So please, any East Java figure, an Indonesian figure who wants to advance to become the Governor of East Java through PKB, have tickets available," said Jazilul.
