Leave Anies Then Support Prabowo, Surya Paloh Considered Pragmatic

JAKARTA - The general chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, was called pragmatic after leaving Anies Baswedan, who lost the 2024 presidential election, then stated that he supported the government of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Executive Director of Indonesia Political Review (IPR), Ujang Komarudin, said Surya Paloh needed power so as not to'sufficient' for economic and business interests.

"Anies is considered to be held and controlled by NasDem if he wins, but loses. In that context, I see what NasDem is doing, the considerations are pragmatic rationals and interests only. In politics, all political parties are built," said Ujang when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, April 30.

Ujang said that it would be normal for the presidential candidates who lost the election to be left behind by their supporters. Unfortunately, he said, Anies was not a political party cadre so he had to find his own way so he could survive in the world of national politics.

"Yes, that's the case, I have also analyzed it. If you lose, you will be left behind, including PKB, you will leave even though until the last second it seems to be together. Cak Imin is still profitable because he is the chairman of the political party so he can still determine the direction of future political policy. But Anies is not, because he is not a political party, he must find his own way in order to exist in politics in the future," said Ujang.

However, according to Ujang, Surya Paloh cannot be said to be a bad person. Because in politics, must be prepared with good and bad consequences.

"That's NasDem's choice with all the good consequences," he concluded
