Prabowo Admits He Only Wants To Run For Presidential Candidate If Jokowi Supports Him

JAKARTA - President-elect Prabowo Subianto revealed his reason for wanting to run again (Pilpres) 2024. He admitted that he only wanted to run as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election if it was approved and supported by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

This was conveyed by Prabowo while attending the halal bihalal with the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board at the PBNU building, Jalan Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta, Sunday, April 28.

"When I was asked whether I wanted to advance or not in 2024? I openly said that if I was approved and supported by Pak Joko Widodo. Why? Because we need continuity and commitment to sustainability," he explained.

In addition to mentioning sustainability, Prabowo also explained that a number of current government policies also need to be improved and innovated in the future.

"Good things, big people's money investments must be secured. Is everything good? Of course not. Does it need improvement? Of course, innovating? Of course," he added.

Prabowo previously also recounted the reasons he joined the Jokowi Government coalition after competing in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections. Prabowo believes that the challenges faced by the Indonesian nation are not easy, so it requires cooperation between the nation's children.

" Brothers and sisters, I join with full awareness that the challenges faced by our nation now are not getting easier and not simpler," he said.

Prabowo admitted that when he entered the cabinet, he looked closely at the decisions taken by President Jokowi. As the recipient of the mandate from the people, Prabowo said the government must work seriously for the benefit of all people.

"With me coming closely, the discussions of decisions taken by Pak Jokowi, I believe it is the duty of the government, the task of the people's trust recipients is really, really, really have to work for the benefit of all Indonesian people," he explained.
