BMKG Asks Residents To Beware Of Rain Accompanied By Strong Winds In Central Kalimantan

PALANGKA RAYA - A forecaster from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Tjilik Riwut Palangka Raya, Muhamad Ihsan Sidiq, asked the public to be aware of the potential for heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning in the province of Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan).

"Over the coming week, the Central Kalimantan region has the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain which can be accompanied by strong winds and lightning strikes," said Ihsan in Palangka Raya, Antara, Sunday, April 28.

The potential for heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning strikes is evenly distributed in 13 districts and one city in the province nicknamed "Bumi Tambun Bungai, Bumi Pancasila". It is estimated that the rain will occur from night to morning.

He appealed to the people in the local province to be aware of the growth of convective clouds or Cumulonimbus clouds. These clouds are common signs of immediate heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning strikes.

This condition must also make the public increasingly aware of the potential for puddles of water, floods, flash floods, landslides and fallen trees due to moderate to heavy rain of intensity which can be accompanied by lightning or lightning and strong winds.
