JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) ensured that the operation of the Fast Trainfeeding on Sunday, April 28, 2024 remained normal and was not affected by the 6.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Garut Regency, West Java.

PT KCIC Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 centered in the Garut area, West Java, had no impact on the railway's infrastructure. This is because the infrastructure structure of the Fast Train is designed to be earthquake resistant to a magnitude 8 magnitude.

According to Eva, after the PT KCIC earthquake, she had checked all stations, lanes, and operational support facilities for the Fast Train. The inspection will take place from 00.30 WIB - at 03.00 WIB.

Based on the results of the inspection, all infrastructure conditions for operations were declared safe and there was no damage, so today the Quick Train still serves passengers according to the schedule since the departure of the first train.

"People who use the Fast Train need not worry. There is no change in the travel schedule for the Fast Train on Sunday, April 28, 2024," Eva said in her statement, Sunday, April 28.

Eva said earlier that when the earthquake occurred at around 23.30 WIB, sensors that could be found in the Fast Train infrastructure to read the emergency situation immediately gave a signal. There was no operational activity for the Fast Train journey at that time.
