5 Train Travel Stopped Due To Earthquake In Garut, West Java

JAKARTA - PT (KAI) Persero Daop 1 Jakarta had stopped traveling 5 trains (KA) due to the earthquake that occurred on Saturday, April 27, at 23.29 WIB. Based on BMKG information, an earthquake measuring 6.5 magnitude occurred in Garut Regency, West Java.

"In order to anticipate and ensure safe train travel due to the earthquake in Garut, the 5 train trip was ordered to stop extraordinary," said Ixfan Hendriwintoko, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, in a statement, Sunday, April 28.

Ixfan added, after the order stopped extraordinary from the control center, he said, officers from the Railway Facilities Crew (ASP) immediately followed up and checked.

Then the crew of the Railway Facilities (ASP), reported that the earthquake had not felt and checked the rail and bridge lines were declared safe.

At 23.50 WIB, the city-Pasarsenen-Jatinegara-Cikampek city was declared safe and at 23.53 a.m. the train was running again, at 00.15 a.m. the Tanahabang-Rangkas-Merak crossing was declared safe and at 00.20 a.m. the train could run again, and at 00.43 p.m. the Depok-Bogor-Sukabumi route was also declared safe and at 00.44 a.m. the train was allowed to run again.

A number of trains that had stopped their journey and experienced a slowdown, namely:

Ka 16 Argo Muria Gambir - Semarang Tawang Bang Central Java is 40 minutes late. KA 82F Manahan additional Gambir - Yogyakarta Relations were 18 minutes late. KA 248 Progo Relations Pasarsenen - Lempuyangan 20 minutes late. Ka 258 Tawang Jaya Pasarsenen - Semarang Tawang Bank Jateng was 19 minutes late. KA 233 Matarmaja Malang-Pasarsenen relation was 20 minutes late.

Ixfan ensured that there were no disturbances to the train journey that was ordered to temporarily stop.

"On behalf of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, we apologize for the disruption of the train trip, because with the dismissal of 4 trains experiencing a slowdown, this was done to anticipate the safety of the passengers," he concluded.
