JAKARTA - Local governments (Pemda) are encouraged to develop innovations to accelerate regional independence.

Head of the Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Yusharto Huntoyungo said that economically it requires investment but by using inherent capital, namely thinking.

"We can use our innovation to accelerate regional independence," said Yusharto quoting Antara.

Yusharto explained that his party had succeeded in collecting 28,539 innovations in 2023. He hopes that in 2024 regional participation in innovation reporting will increase.

BSKDN also has the Tuxedovation application which contains examples of innovations from various regions. Yusharto said the local government could access the application to increase knowledge related to innovation.

Meanwhile, when he was a resource person in the Level II National Leadership Training (PKN) within the Regional Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMD) of North Sulawesi Province, Friday (26/4), Yusharto said one of the sources of innovation was a change project which was the result of PKN TK II.

Yusharto explained that in order to be used as an innovation, change projects must meet a number of criteria, namely that they must come from participant creative ideas, based on the latest issues, obtain full support from direct superiors to institutions, answer organizational problems in a strategic scope, improve organizational performance more adaptive, provide benefits for organizations, and show branding from change projects.

On the other hand, to ensure that there is novelty in breakthroughs or creative ideas that are initiated, every PKN Level II participant must also understand a number of things such as whether the breakthrough offered has a positive impact, is able to provide solutions, does not violate the existing system, to be sustainable.

He emphasized that in the future his party will also perfect the Regional Innovation Index (IID) application so that every PKN Level II participant can input a change project as an innovation in the ID application.

"However, we will first confirm with each regional government whether the change project initiated by this participant will be included in the ID measurement or postponed to increase its maturity," he said.
