Sah Saja Joins, As Long As Political Parties 'Lawan' Do Not Damage Prabowo-Gibran's New Government Program

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the National Network for Activists '98 (Jarnas '98), Sangap Surbakti welcomed the news of the 'against' political party in the 2024 presidential election joining the ranks of the Prabowo-Gibran Rakabuming coalition. For him, during the political parties that carried the political opponent Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 presidential election contestation was sincere and had good intentions to support the elected government program, indirectly political parties contributed to maintaining national unity. "If the political parties that carry Prabowo's political opponents take a political stance to join the Prabowo government, that's good. Thus, disputes between the nation's children that occur during the presidential election can be resolved, and national unity is getting closer," explained Sangap who is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Law. Indonesian Christian University (UKI) in Jakarta, Friday, April 26. Most importantly, Sangap emphasized, the 'against' political party in the 2024 presidential election does not have a covert agenda that actually damages the Prabowo-Gibran government's agenda. Sangap reminded that if the political party that carries the political opponent Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election enters the elected government by conducting bargaining for the position of Minister in the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet, it is feared that the elected government program will stagnate. "Prabowo-Gibran during a contest in the presidential election, of course, has prepared various things, such as government programs, people who are right and experienced in carrying out the program, and so on. Well, if the political party carrying political opponents wants to join forces by giving their cadres an offer to enter the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet, this could damage the government's program," he explained. Moreover, added Sangap, one of the General Chairmen of the Political Party against Prabowo Subianto who wanted to join the government had dealt with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This, said Sangap, could have a negative impact on the Prabowo-Gibran government. " “ What has been examined by the KPK should not be accommodated, because it can be a thorn in the meat in the Prabowo-Gibran government," said Sangap. For Sangap, sharing power with political opponents is not a solution in advancing and prospering the people. Because, continued Sangap, people chose Prabowo-Gibran as President and Vice President and at the same time fully believed that the two figures already had the right people in running government programs that could prosper the people. "So, joining the government should not actually mean being able to place its cadres in the Cabinet. Because, it is entirely Prabowo-Gibran's prerogative which is trusted by the community to lead Indonesia. Of course, Prabowo does not want to disappoint the people," said Sangap.

"If you want to join the Prabowo government, then these political parties do not force the minister to allocate, follow the rules of the elected president, be loyal to the Prabowo government, and their factions in the DPR must support the policies of the Prabowo-Gibran government," said Sangap.
