Bogor City DHF Increases 10 Times, Hospital Handles 621 Patients

BOGOR - Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) has experienced a spike in recent times. Since early 2024 until now, Bogor City Hospital has even recorded serving as many as 621 dengue patients.

Head of the Medical Services Division of the Bogor City Hospital, Dr. Andy Prianto, explained that the increase began in January 2024 at that time, his party received 117 dengue patients.

This figure continues to increase in the following month which reached 157 patients. At its peak in March 2024, the Bogor City Hospital received up to 221 dengue patients. Meanwhile, from early April to Thursday, April 25, the number of dengue patients at the Bogor City Hospital was still at 126 people.

"Currently it has started to fall, but it is still relatively large. The status is still on standby. When compared to last year's increase, it could reach 3-10 times," Friday, April 26.

As a type B hospital, DHF patients served by the Bogor City Hospital are not only residents of Bogor City, but also residents of Bogor Regency and surrounding areas.

Responding to this condition Andy said that his party had even added inpatient rooms. Especially for pediatric patients who dominate the number of patients in this hospital.

"The addition is flexible. If needed, we will add it. Currently, there are 512 beds that we have. The plan in the future will be added 27 more beds," said Andy.

He explained that in dealing with the surge in dengue cases, efforts made by the Bogor City Hospital must be comprehensive. Not only curative and rehabilitative but also preventively carried out by the Health Office.

"Because of us, the Bogor City Hospital is a government-owned type B hospital, we have a more responsibility in receiving referrals from other hospitals. Most of those who enter this hospital are patients with moderate and severe categories," he explained.
