Thursday Morning, A Number Of Areas In South Jakarta Were Flooded

JAKARTA - The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that five neighborhood units (RT) in South Jakarta experienced flooding on Thursday morning at 07.00 WIB.

"As for DKI Jakarta, we recorded an existing inundation of 0.016 percent of the existing 30,772 RTs," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji to reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, April 25.

Isnawa said the five RTs were four RTs in Pondok Pinang with a height of 40 centimeters (cm) caused by high rainfall and overflowing Pesanggrahan Rivers.

Meanwhile, one RT in Cipulir with a height of 40 cm due to high rainfall and overflowing Pesanggrahan River.

He also said that the rain that hit DKI Jakarta and its surroundings on Wednesday (24/4) caused an increase in the status of the Pesanggrahan Monitoring Post to be on standby 3 (alert) at 19.00 WIB and inundation occurred in the DKI Jakarta area.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA) implemented six flood control innovations that were placed in flood-regular locations every time it rained heavily.

The innovations range from the development of flood control infrastructure in various areas of Jakarta, to optimization and maintenance of flood control infrastructure.

The six flood control innovations include the construction of flood control infrastructure such as reservoirs or reservoirs, strengthening river embankments, building polder or pump systems, alerting and checking periodic pump houses, floodgates, to heavy equipment, alerting task forces (tasks) in the field, and increasing area drainage capacity.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Office, Ika Agustin Ningrum, said that his party also built five pump systems (polder), revitalized two fixed pump units (stationary), procured 580 stationary pump units in 202 locations, and 557 mobile pump units spread across five administrative areas of Jakarta.

"Then there are 845 floodgate units in 589 locations, 254 heavy equipment units, 460 transport trucks, and 4,013 flood control personnel and coastal management," said Ika.
