Prabowo-Gibran Appointed By KPU Today, Ganjar Absent: No Invitation

JAKARTA - Presidential candidate number three, Ganjar Pranowo missed the determination of the presidential and vice presidential candidate number two, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected pair in the 2024 presidential election by the General Election Commission (KPU) today, Wednesday, April 24. He admitted that he did not get an invitation. "Last night I asked my staff, there was no invitation (from KPU, ed)," said Ganjar in a short message to reporters, Wednesday, April 24. Ganjar said he only found out about Prabowo-Gibran's determination this morning. So, he could not attend because his position was also in Yogyakarta. After all, said Ganjar, since the beginning the invitation was addressed to political party officials, not his presidential or deputy candidates. I confirmed to the invited staff initially for the party chairmen,' said the former Governor of Central Java.

As previously reported, the KPU will determine the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election. He said that the election organizers not only invited the winners, namely Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka but also Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. In addition to the three candidate pairs, the KPU also invited general chairmen and secretary general parties participating in the election. Next, a number of relevant stakeholders such as the chairman of the DPR, MK, the National Police Chief to the TNI Commander were also invited.
