5 Police Officers Persecution 2 Kolaka Residents, Southeast Sulawesi Police Intervene

The Resort Police (Polres), the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda), examined five police officers suspected of beating residents with the initials M (27) and F (28) in Lamokato Village, Kolaka District, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province.

The head of the Kolaka Police, AKBP Yosa Hadi, said that currently his party had detained the five police officers for further investigation.

"We have detained the perpetrators, the process continues," said Yosa, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 24.

He said that his party openly carried out legal proceedings against the alleged perpetrators, and his party would even take firm action against these police officers.

"The Kolaka Police will try to reveal and convey openly to the public," he said.

Yosa Hadi representing the ranks of the Kolaka Police apologized to the entire community, especially the families of the victims, for the beating.

"I as the leader convey my apologies, especially to the victims and the families of the victims who have been victims rather than the actions of our members," he said.

He also revealed that his party would be responsible and carry out legal processes in accordance with procedures.

"So that we get legal certainty, even though it involves our members," said Yosa.

The beating incident, experienced by victims M and S while sitting at the crime scene (TKP), suddenly they were approached by a group of men who were riding motorbikes and immediately chased the victims, on Saturday (20/4).

The cowboy action of the perpetrators was caught by CCTV cameras and it was seen that about five motorbikes approached and immediately beat the victims.

According to one of the victims, he recognized several perpetrators, who were police officers at the Kolaka Police. As a result of the beating, the victims suffered injuries to several parts of their bodies.
