Former Managing Director Of Adam Malik Hospital Becomes A Corruption Suspect, Medan Kejari: Detained In The Next 20 Days

NORTH Sumatra - The Medan District Attorney (Kejari) in North Sumatra (North Sumatra) named the former President Director of the Haji Adam Malik Central General Hospital (RSUP) with the initials BP as a suspect.

The suspect BP is suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption in the management of state finances in the 2018 budget.

"Today, the Medan Kejari Special Criminal Investigation Prosecutor has named the suspect and detained BP as the President Director with sufficient preliminary evidence found," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Medan Kejari Dapot Dariarma in Medan, Tuesday, April 23, as quoted by Antara.

Dapot continued the modus operandi of the suspect's actions together with the suspects AD and MB who collected taxes, but were not deposited into the state treasury.

"In addition, not paying the 12 transactions that have been recorded have been paid to the 2018 general treasury agency (BKU) to third parties, of which all funds from the public service agency (BLU) are allegedly used by BP, AD and MB suspects for personal needs," he said.

Dapot said that the actions of the three suspects had resulted in state financial losses based on the calculation of BPK RI amounting to Rp8,059,455,203.

On that basis, the suspect BP was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning amendments or Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

"The suspect will be detained for the next 20 days starting from April 23 to May 12, 2024 at the Medan Class I State Detention Center," said Dapot.

Previously, the Medan Kejari named former Public Service Treasurer of the Haji Adam Malik Hospital with the initials AD as a suspect on March 27 and former Finance Director (Dirkeu) of Haji Adam Malik Hospital with the initials MB on March 27 with the same case.
