Black Smoke At Former Buaran Station, Firefighters: People Burn Garbage

A puff of black smoke soared high in the area of the former Buaran Lama Station, Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Malacca Jaya Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Tuesday, April 23.

"It turned out that the object burned was only garbage with an area of 60 meters. The reason was because someone burned the garbage and then the fire grew," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed.

The fire incident caused a commotion among residents and reported to the Duren Sawit fire department. After receiving the report, three fire engines were dispatched to the location to extinguish the fire.

"The fire was extinguished at 09.00 WIB. The fire was extinguished by 15 personnel," he said.

The beginning of the fire was reported by residents who were passing by and saw smoke rising from under the station.

"Alhamdulillah, the victim was nil. Currently, the fire has been extinguished," he said.
