KPK Receives Return Of IDR 500 Million From Corruption In The Procurement Of PPE Of The Ministry Of Health

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) received a refund of Rp500 million from Satrio Wibowo, who is the President Director of PT Energy Kita Indonesia.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the refund was made when Satrio underwent examination as a witness to allegations of corruption in the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) on Friday, April 19 yesterday. He handed over to investigators.

"The investigative team also received a refund of Rp500 million," Ali said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, April 23.

In addition, Satrio was questioned by investigators about the procurement of PPE involving his company. However, Ali did not explain the details.

"The person concerned was present and confirmed, among other things, related to the participation of witness companies in the procurement of PPE at the Indonesian Ministry of Health," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK named a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) for the period 2020-2022 or during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number is more than one person but his identity has not been disclosed.

From the results of the temporary investigation, the value of state losses caused reached hundreds of billions of rupiah. The project value is IDR 3.03 trillion for the procurement of 5 million PPE packages.

In this case, five people have been prevented from leaving the country. The anti-corruption commission did not specify them, but they are Budi Badhi as the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Health, Hermansyah who is an ASN from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Satrio Wibowo and Ahmad Taufik as private sector, and A. Isdar Yusuf as advocates.
