Jokowi Harvests Corn In Gorontalo During The Trial Of The Pill Dispute Decision At The Constitutional Court

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) harvests corn in Kotaraja Village, Dulupi District, Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo Province, Monday, April 22.

On the second day they visited Gorontalo, the President harvested corn accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, and Acting Governor of Gorontalo Ismail Pakaya.

"Our corn production continues to increase. Regarding prices, last year it could reach Rp. 8,000/kilograms, now it has dropped to Rp. 4,000 to Rp. 5,000 per kilogram," said President Jokowi, confiscated by Antara.

This means that if the price has dropped like that, the production will surely be abundant. "We hope that both of them, the production will increase but also the price will increase. The government must make purchases through Bulog," said the President.

Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman hopes that Bulog will immediately absorb domestic corn production so that prices do not fall. Mainly in a number of corn production centers such as in Gorontalo Province.

"We really hope that Bulog will move. If it continues like this, when will it be finished, it will be imported," said Amran.

In order to increase corn production, the Ministry of Agriculture through the Directorate of Development allocated seed assistance worth IDR 65.61 billion to Gorontalo Province.

The assistance consists of rice seeds for an area of five thousand hectares worth Rp2.92 billion and corn seeds with an area of 69,660 hectares of Rp62.69 billion.
