Indicator Survey: 77.2 Percent Of Respondents Satisfied With President Jokowi's Performance

JAKARTA - The results of a survey by Indonesian Political Indicators stated that 77.2 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with the performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). "The majority of respondents, namely 77.2 percent, said that they were satisfied with President Joko Widodo's performance," said the main researcher in Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, April 21.

He explained that the level, public satisfaction or "approval rating" of President Jokowi's performance was 77.2 percent, consisting of 53.5 percent who stated that they were "satisfied enough" and 23.7 percent were "very satisfied" with President Jokowi's performance. According to him, only 18.5 percent said they were dissatisfied, including 3.5 percent said they were not satisfied at all. According to him, there are four main factors related to Jokowi's high "approval rating" in the eyes of the public, the first is attention to the small people.

"The highest reason the public is satisfied with Jokowi's performance is because he likes to provide assistance to small communities, the figure reaches 31.4 percent," he said. The second reason according to Burhanuddin, the public assesses that President Jokowi's performance has been good, the figure reaches 25.2 percent. In addition, there is also a reason for infrastructure development that is often carried out by President Jokowi's government with the figure reaching 20.6 percent.," he said.

In addition, Burhanuddin explained, the "approval rating" of President Jokowi of 77.2 percent is a high number, because it occurs in the midst of many issues and challenges that must be faced by the President, starting from the economy, politics and law. He said that President Jokowi's approval rating increase in the findings of the Indicator, namely in February 2024, was at 76 percent and the figure increased in early April to 77.2 percent.

The Indicator Survey was conducted in the range of 4-5 April 2024 involving 1,201 respondents who were interviewed by telephone. The survey has a confidence level of 95 percent.
