JAKARTA - The Duren Sawit Police buser team dispersed the perpetrators of a brawl between a group of sharp armed gangsters and firecrackers that occurred on Jalan Mawar Merah, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Sunday morning, April 21.

The brawl between groups of juvenile gangsters was equipped with various sharp weapons. They threw stones and firecrackers at each other that had been prepared. Some of them even fought each other with sharp weapons like war winners.

The brawl was recorded by amateur videos of local residents using cell phones. The number of teenagers carrying a number of sharp weapons dampened the residents' 'lives' to disperse the brawl. Residents then reported to the Duren Sawit Police.

After receiving the report, the Duren Sawit Police buser team immediately headed to the location of the brawl. The police also fired tear gas after arriving at the location to disperse the brawlers.

"Earlier there was a Buser team too, thank you very much. Residents here were greatly harmed by this gangster brawl," said Andri, a local resident to reporters, Sunday, April 21.

Adri said that he did not recognize the perpetrators of the brawl. However, they have often carried out brawls in their area since Ramadan.

"We don't know which group we don't know about. But after Eid this time, when we fasted twice. Earlier there were fifty people, we just didn't dare to see because they brought sickles and swords," he said.

Meanwhile, Fadil, other residents also feel aggrieved by the rampant brawls of gangster groups in his area. The perpetrators of the brawl since last Ramadan.

"There are many gangsters. They bring all kinds of firecrackers, brawlers, weapons are also sharp a lot. There are frequent brawls here from the fasting month," he added.

Residents hope that the police can take firm action against brawlers who often disturb the public. Meanwhile, the case is still under investigation by the Duren Sawit Police.
