JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko was elected as Chairman of the Democratic Party in the party's extraordinary congress (KLB) which was held at The Hill Sibolangit Hotel, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, Friday, March 5, Moeldoko beat Marzuki Alie.

Democrat Party Declarator Max Sopacua said the series of conflicts within the party bearing the Star of Mercy had actually been quite long. Until finally the KLB Deli Serdang had to be held. The climax was during the election of the son of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as General Chair.

As previously reported, when he was appointed Chairman of the Democratic Party, Moeldoko was not yet at the KLB location.

The KLB participants directly contacted Moeldoko via cell phone. At that time, it was explained to him that from the results of the KLB his name was appointed as General Chair. Moeldoko also accepted the result of the congress decision.
