Joint officers from various elements, including the TNI/Polri, have started cleaning up new materials and mud carried out by flash floods and landslides in dozens of villages in seven sub-districts, Trenggalek Regency, East Java (East Java), Friday, April 19.

For flood-affected residential areas and areas, joint officers under the command of BPBD Trenggalek carried out manual cleaning assisted by water tanker trucks, fire engines, and makeshift equipment, which were carried out in mutual cooperation.

Meanwhile, for areas affected by landslides, BPBD Trenggalek deployed heavy equipment to accelerate the normalization process of landslide-covered routes.

"Currently, joint officers are still cleaning up disaster-affected materials. In addition, officers have also distributed logistical assistance," said Head of BPBD Trenggalek Vocali Atmono, confirmed on the sidelines of disaster mitigation activities, Friday, April 19, which were confiscated by Antara.

Not only spraying, officers also deployed bulldozers to evacuate piles of soil that blocked the Trenggalek-Bendung road access, precisely in north Dompyong Market, Dompyong Village, Bendungan District.

"Hopefully the evacuation will run smoothly, so that road access can be passed normally again," he said.

To note, heavy rains that flushed the Bumi Menak Sopal area on Thursday, April 18 at 17.00 WIB until 23.30 WIB resulted in floods and landslides in 15 villages from seven sub-districts of the area.

The expansion of the number of areas affected by the disaster can change, because the inventory process carried out by officers is still ongoing.

"But so far there have been no reports of casualties. To assess material losses are still in process," he said.
