JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the Constitutional Court (MK) is scheduled to issue a trial decision on the 2024 general election results dispute (PHPU) on Monday, April 22. The verdict starts to be read out at 09.00 WIB.
Even though on one trial agenda, the verdict was read out separately according to the case registration number, namely the presidential and vice-presidential candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, then presidential and vice-presidential candidates number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.
"There are two decisions. Joined in the same courtroom in the same assembly," said Head of the Legal and Administrative Bureau of the Constitutional Court Fajar Laksono to reporters, Friday, April 19.
The Constitutional Court has sent a letter regarding the schedule of court decisions to all litigants, both presidential and vice-presidential candidates who are the principal of the applicant and their attorneys, the KPU as the respondent, Prabowo-Gibran and their attorneys, along with Bawaslu as related parties.
"We call all of them. Petitioner 1, applicant 2, respondent, related party, giver of Bawaslu information, yes, these 4 are for the 2 cases, there are 8 letters that we sent," said Fajar.
The Constitutional Court invites all parties invited to attend or not. "It's up to us, the important thing is that we call the parties. Anyone wants to come, the important thing is that we have called properly," he continued.
However, the Constitutional Court did not invite parties who volunteered as amicus to steal or a court friend in this case to attend the Court courtroom during the reading of the verdict.
"This is an open Constitutional Court trial, yes. Open means you have to come to the courtroom. We can see it anywhere. Direct YouTube streaming Bs and others. So, for the sake of conduciveness, parties who have direct interests with this case are allowed, or then called to come directly to the courtroom," explained Fajar.
The 2024 presidential election dispute trial has been over. The panel of judges is still holding a judge's deliberation meeting (RPH) to decide the case. The meeting took place on Tuesday, April 16 and is scheduled for completion on Sunday, April 21.
To speed up the marathon discussion of the case, the judges often came home late at night until they stayed at the office during the RPH.
"The RPH is still ongoing until Sunday. Tomorrow it is also still scheduled, Sunday it is still scheduled," said Fajar.
