Gibran Responds To Prabowo's Request Volunteers No Need For Action At The Constitutional Court: Let It Be Cool

The elected vice president (wapres), Gibran Rakabuming Raka revealed that the direction of the elected president, Prabowo Subianto, for his volunteers to cancel the peace action plan to be held at the Constitutional Court (MK) building, Friday, April 19, was the best step.

"Yes, it's better that way (the cancellation of peaceful demonstrations). Let everything cool, so as not to interfere with residents' activities," he told the media crew at Solo City Hall, Central Java, Friday, October 19.

Gibran also agreed that Prabowo's reason for asking for the peaceful action to be postponed was to maintain the coolness of democracy, maintain the unity and integrity of the nation, and maintain harmony among all Indonesian people.

"Yes, that's right (maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation), we just follow Pak Prabowo's directions," he said.

The mayor of Solo also admitted that the directive had previously been communicated by Prabowo with other figures.

"Already (communicated), with Pak Ara (Maruarar Sirait) and others already," he said.

Therefore, the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked all volunteers and supporters of Prabowo-Gibran to follow the directions that have been given and wait for a decision from the Constitutional Court regarding the trial of the dispute over the election results (PKPU) or the 2024 presidential election dispute.

"Yes, just follow the directions. We'll just have to wait (the Constitutional Court's decision)," said Gibran.

As previously reported, the elected president, Prabowo Subianto, asked his supporters, volunteers, and voters to cancel the peaceful demonstration which was planned to be held in front of the Constitutional Court (MK) building.

He also asked 96.2 million Prabowo-Gibran voters not to hold actions on the streets, and to focus on maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation.

"I Prabowo Subianto sincerely ask all Indonesian people, especially the 96.2 million Indonesian people who have chosen the Prabowo-Gibran pair not to take any action in front of the Constitutional Court building or in other places, especially on the streets in order to maintain the coolness of democracy in maintaining the unity and integrity of the nation in maintaining harmony among all Indonesian people," Prabowo said in a press statement via a video received, Friday (19/4/2024).
