Polda Metro Jaya Starts Investigating Allegations Of Blasphemy Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has begun investigating the alleged blasphemy case that made Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong a reported person. The investigation began by examining witnesses.

"For the matter of the report we received yesterday at the SPKT, that Pastor Gilbert reported, we are currently still in the process of examining witnesses for further investigation," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Wira Satya Triputra to reporters, Thursday, April 18.

Regarding the examination of Pastor Gilbert, investigators are said to have not scheduled it. This is because some initial investigations must be carried out before asking for information from the reported party.

"Not yet reported, for the time being we have to conduct an examination of witness witnesses, including deepening the evidence in the media and checking places of worship," he said.

On the other hand, Wira conveyed the basis for the investigation carried out by the State Security Sub-Directorate (Kamneg) of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate, namely a report received by the Metro Jaya Police on April 16.

Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong went viral because in his lecture he compared zakat between Muslims and Christians.

From the video circulating on social media, Pastor Gilbert is considered to have insulted Islam because he only paid zakat 2.5 percent and boasted because Christians used to give up 10 percent.

According to Gilbert, he said this when he mentioned the prayers of Muslims who must be pure first.

"I was taught Islam cleanly before praying, washing everything. I said, you are 2.5 percent myself 10 percent," said Pastor Gilbert.

Gilbert also said that with 10 percent alms, Christians do not have to bother praying. They only sing while Muslims pray quite hard, because they have to fold their feet at the end of the day.
