Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto revealed 5,566,015 pornographic content involving Indonesian children as victims.

Hadi explained the figure from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) data.

"Indonesia is ranked fourth internationally, and second in the ASEAN region," Hadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 18.

According to him, victims of the pornographic act involve children ranging from early childhood education (PAUD), elementary, junior high, high school, to children who are educated in Islamic boarding schools. In fact, there are also people with disabilities who are victims.

Hadi said the child pornography cases involved the perpetrators who were close people and people known as child victims.

For this reason, his party will form a task force (task force) to handle this because pornography cases involving children are serious matters.

Based on data from the Ministry of Communication and Information, according to him, in September 2023 there were 1,950,794 pornographic content that had been taken down. However, a number of ministries need to be synergized to overcome this problem.

In addition to handling cases, he continued, collaboration across ministries and institutions in the task force to be formed is also able to provide education and outreach to the community.

"We will do this starting from the stages of prevention, handling, prevention, law enforcement, and post-event," he said.
