19 Papua New Guinea Foreigners Violate Administration, 5 People Directly Deported

PAPUA - The Immigration Office Class I TPI Jayapura said 19 Foreign Citizens (WNA) from Papua New Guinea (PNG) violated the immigration administration in the first quarter of 2024.

"Based on data on immigration violations of the Jayapura Class I Immigration Office in January-April 2024, there were 19 foreigners from PNG who violated the administration," said Head of Immigration Class I TPI Jayapura Muhammad Akmal in Jayapura, Papua, Thursday, April 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Akmal, of these five people have been deported while 10 others have been quarantined and sent to the immigration detention house.

"Meanwhile, for pro justitia, there are four people who are just waiting for the court's decision," he said.

He explained that his party specifically admitted that 10 people who had entered the immigration detention house, including five people who were deported, were secured in Sarmi Regency, Papua.

"They entered through the border in Skouw so that they were secured by the police and then handed over to Jayapura Immigration," he said again.

He added that four people who were still in pro justitia were also caught in the Skouw border area through illegal routes by bringing a rope of approximately 98.5 kilograms.

"In the future, we will continue to make efforts to reduce the level of violations that occur in border areas, such as socializing," he said.

He also appealed to foreign nationals who want to enter Indonesia to have valid documents such as cross-border travel documents.
