Rain Accompanied By Strong Winds, Two Villages In North Lombok Flooded

MATARAM- Two villages in the North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, were hit by floods after heavy rains on Tuesday, April 16 from afternoon to evening.

"The two villages that were hit by flash floods were Sesait Village and Kayangan Village, Kayangan District," said Head of BPBD North Lombok Zaldy Rahardian in Mataram, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, April 17.

He mentioned that the two villages that experienced flooding were Sesait Village and Kayangan Village. The two areas experienced heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. The impact of the flood in Sesait Village is that two houses were submerged and washed away a uniform, tofu handicraft equipment, and a bricks printing device, whose losses are estimated at tens of millions of rupiah.

"The number of families affected by the banji bandang in Sesait Village is two families. Meanwhile, the number of houses affected in Kayangan Village is 13 families," he said.

The flood water did not occur long after the rain stopped, the floodwaters began to recede. After the incident, his party immediately provided logistical assistance in the form of clean water needs, tarpaulins, and basic food needs.

"The flood impact is still being collected. Residents are currently starting to clean up mud from flood inundation," he said.
